Ava Cantrell and Gene Farber
On Thursday, February 9th we welcomed actor Gene Farber and actress Ava Cantrell back to “Conversations”! Ava and Gene were promoting their new film, One Under the Sun, which releases March 21st!
Gene is a native of Belarus and has done it all. Whether it’s Stage, TV, Film or Motion Capture/Voiceover gigs, Gene dives in and delivers an epic performance. He is known for his roles in Captain America: Civil War, X-Men: First Class, Call of Duty: Black Ops, and Virtuality.
After emigrating to Queens, NY at a young age, he attended the renowned Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center in NYC where he was awarded 1st level Prize by the National Foundation For the Advancement in the Arts (NFAA/ ARTS week).
Gene received his BFA in Acting from Boston University, and studied at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts. Upon graduating from BU, he was awarded the prestigious Albert and Esther B. Kahn award. The actor balances his way through TV, film, and theatre, appearing in productions in NYC’s renowned theaters such as Manhattan Theatre Club, Second Stage, Classic Stage Company, and others.
Ava Cantrell was born and raised in San Diego, Ca. An award winning American actress and dancer, Ava has been successfully working in Hollywood since 2008 appearing in commercials, music videos, films, television and television pilots. Ava’s breakthrough role was recurring character Penelope Pritchard on Nickelodeon’s comedy Haunted Hathaways (2013).
Ava is also known for The Passing (2014), Cam Girls (2015) and Above the 101 (2014), and Lights Out (2016). Ava stars as ‘Amelia Voss’ in the new independent sci-fi feature film, One Under the Sun.
